Why does my game lag when my speed test is fast?
A fast download result only proves available throughput to the test server. Gaming can still suffer from latency, loss, routing or PC performance problems.

Separate network lag from rendering lag before changing settings.
RaceMyNet measures bandwidth and connection quality, while your game can also be limited by FPS, frame-time spikes and the game server itself. The symptoms overlap, so compare them methodically.
Check ping and jitter, not just Mbps
A 1 Gbps line can still feel bad if latency varies sharply or packets are lost.
Watch FPS and frame time
If the image stutters while network latency stays stable, the bottleneck may be CPU, GPU, shader compilation or storage rather than the connection.
Check packet loss
Rubber-banding, teleporting players and delayed hit registration can come from missing network updates even when downloads are fast.
Use the nearest game region
The speed-test server and the game server are not the same destination. A distant game region adds unavoidable propagation delay.
Compare Wi-Fi and Ethernet
Stable Ethernet with unstable Wi-Fi points toward the local wireless path.
Check server status and other players
If many players experience the same issue at once, local PC tweaks will not repair a game-server incident.
